Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care across the nursing process. The role emphasizes collaboration with the health team and integration of evidence-based practice to improve care quality.

The RN will oversee care delivery for an assigned patient group, participate in performance improvement, and support unit operations while maintaining professional standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has RN license.
• 1 year L&D or LDRP experience preferred for LDRP roles.
• 1 year M/B experience preferred for Post-Partum roles.
• RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred.
• BLS CPR required at hire, ACLS within 6 months, NRP within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team members in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate the plan of care and pertinent information to health team members.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in improvement activities.
• Participate in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff.
• Act as contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
