Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide total, patient-centered care in the designated unit. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team, uses evidence-based knowledge, and follows the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

This role requires a Virginia RN license, BSN preferred, BLS CPR, and at least two years of acute care experience. You will participate in quality improvement, education for patients and staff, and unit or hospital

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN license (Virginia or compact state) required.
• BSN preferred; ADN with BSN within five years acceptable.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire and additional unit certifications as needed.
• Minimum two years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement and discharge planning.
• Communicate the plan of care with health team members.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality activities.
• Engage in orientation and mentorship of new staff; participate in committees.
• Provide education to patients and caregivers related to the plan of care.
• Maintain productivity standards as determined by leadership.
• Support safe patient/staff environment during daily operations.
