Job Summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Unit at Community Medical Center.

Community Medical Center, a 592-bed, fully accredited acute care hospital, offers world-class medical treatment with hometown care. Since opening in 1961, CMC has become New Jersey's newest teaching hospital, with four residency programs and Ocean County's largest healthcare facility, caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients, and 73,700 emergency patients annually.

Qualifications:

Required:

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Preferred:

• BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

• Night shift, 24 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical standards as per the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensure safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles, and advancing knowledge through communication and resource utilization.
• Report safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Set and evaluate priorities with measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Utilize the nursing process to individualize patient care plans and coordinate care as an individual practitioner and team leader.
