Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic's St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU. This per diem Tier III position includes day shifts with on-call nights and requires 14 call shifts per year minimum, plus weeknight and seasonal call obligations.

The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care, assess learning needs, document assessments and interventions, and communicate changes during rounds and handoffs. A BSN, PA RN license, and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or equivalent.
• Active PA RN license and current certifications (BLS, ACLS).
• Professional nursing practice for PACU care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in PACU.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and families.
• Document assessments, plans, interventions, and medications.
• Coordinate with interprofessional rounds and transfer of care.
• Maintain infection control standards and safe environment.

Tier III Requirements: 14 call shifts per year minimum (Friday or Saturday 11pm-7am); Weeknight call rotation; 1 winter and 1 summer holiday call shift.

Shift: Days. On-call for nights.

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
