Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to monitor respiratory and cardiac status of patients recovering from anesthesia. The role involves continual patient assessment, executing physician orders, and ensuring safety and comfort during recovery.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, medication administration, assisting with transfers, and evaluating treatment effectiveness with the care team to update plans as needed. Must hold BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and a Michigan nursing license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Active Michigan nursing license as verified by LARA/Nursys.
• NIHSS certification is required.

Responsibilities

PACU Registered Nurse

Job Description

This is a critical role focused on maintaining the respiratory and cardiac status of patients awakening from anesthesia. The PACU Registered Nurse will continually assess patients, carry out physician orders, and ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as per the physician's authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice.
• Provide direct resident care including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and collaborate with team members to update or revise the plan to improve patient care.
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and in a timely manner while performing ordered care.
• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications.

Schedule

This position requires a variable day shift lasting 12 hours, with start times between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM. On-call duty and weekend shifts are also necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience is required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active Michigan nursing license as verified by LARA and/or Nursys.
• NIHSS Certification (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) is required.
