Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Los Angeles, CA to deliver post‑anesthesia care in PACU. The role involves 10‑hour shifts, days including weekends and holidays, and a 40‑hour work week.

Qualifications

• Current, valid CA license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of one year PACU nursing experience in a community‑based acute care hospital.
• AHA, BLS Certificate, ACLS/PALS.
• MAB or CPI.
• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City).
• Must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records).

Responsibilities

• RNs must provide ICU-level post‑anesthesia care in PACU.
• Care for patients recovering from procedures from various areas (OR, IR, Cath Lab, GI, ECT, pain procedures, and more).
• Monitor vital signs, manage PACU complications, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN

Registered Nurse PACU Duties & Responsibilities:

• RNs must have worked in a Recovery Room, providing ICU-level care to post‑procedural patients, and have successfully completed formal training in post‑anesthesia care.

• RNs must have experience caring for patients recovering from procedures originating from various areas, including the OR, IR, Cath Lab, GI, ECT, and pain procedures, as well as Orthopedics, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Podiatry, Thoracic, and General Surgery.

• RN must be skilled in monitoring patients' vital signs, managing post‑anesthesia complications, administering medications, and providing patient and family education.

• RN must be adaptable, knowledgeable in PACU protocols and patient safety measures, and able to anticipate and respond to the needs of recovering surgical patients to ensure a safe and efficient recovery process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current, valid, and unrestrictedCA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent Post Anesthesia Care nursing experience in a community‑based acute care hospital.

• AHA, BLS Certificate, ACLS/PALS.

• MAB or CPI

• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City)

• Must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date

• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client‑specific requirements).
