Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kingsland is seeking an RN PACU to join our fast‑paced ASC environment. The nurse will implement orders, ensure continuity and quality of care, and continually evaluate patient condition while maintaining safety, comfort and privacy.

May assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks and sterile techniques. The role emphasizes post-anesthesia care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation, with duties including discharge preparation and family

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in PACU or ICU.

• Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

• Monday to Friday work schedule
• Open two Saturdays a month; must work at least one Saturday a month
• NO CALL required
• Off most holidays

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, and providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
