Job summary

Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Cypress is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The role requires strong assessment, critical thinking, and effective communication to coordinate recovery care and discharge planning with the surgical team. Weekday schedules are required with potential early mornings or late evenings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years’ experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating patients’ condition and ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Overview

Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Cypress is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse. The facility has 1 operating room and 3 procedure rooms, performing outpatient surgical procedures in gastroenterology.

Position requires weekdays only - no holidays, weekends, or on‑call duty. Early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating patients’ condition and ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The RN may assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and use of sterile techniques as appropriate. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family in preparation for discharge.
