Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a contract RN for the PACU in Austin, Texas. This 13-week assignment is day shift, with 10.5 hours per shift, and a 1:1 patient ratio on a 5-bed unit.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of RN experience, an active RN license, BLS and ACLS. The unit uses GE monitors and Meditech; procedures include cardioversion and EKGs. A proactive, collaborative approach is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• PACU experience preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care with 1:1 patient ratio in a 5-bed PACU.
• Monitor patient condition, administer medications, and document in Meditech.
• Assist with cardioversion and EKGs as needed; ensure safe handoffs.

Description:This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.The unit consists of 5 beds.There are 6 staff members on the unit.Day shift staffing typically includes 3 to 4 RNs depending on the case schedule.The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1.The equipment used includes GE monitors.The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech.Candidates with critical care experience and PACU experience are preferred.Typical procedures on the unit include cardioversion and EKGs.Assessments are a key responsibility of the role.The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative.Scrub color required is navy.Additional enticing factors may include new equipment or technology, tenure and experience of staff, and schedule options.
