Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, Ohio is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide patient care under physician direction with emphasis on assessment, education, and care planning. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality care.

The RN will perform nursing duties, educate patients and families, and document care in the medical record. A 90-day probationary period applies and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing and possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Ohio.
• Current nursing experience.
• Currently certified in BLS and maintain certification.
• Must be knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients under physician direction, with education and planning while maintaining nursing standards.
• Function in the RN role utilizing the nursing process and follow physician guidance and clinic policy.
• Perform nursing duties including history and physical, vital signs, injections and immunizations, and assisting with exams and treatments.
• Educate patients and caregivers to encourage self-care related to disease and medication management.
• Interpret medical testing and medications per policy; complete physical assessments and order labs as permitted.
• Document all interventions, tests, responses, medications dispensed or prescribed in the medical record.
• Collect and relay pertinent information to the provider, highlighting critical values.
• Assist in development and expansion of clinic services.
• Provide referrals to Firelands resources such as mental health, rehab, sleep lab, and financial aid.
