Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for its 5B Orthopaedic Unit. You will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing hip/knee replacements, spinal procedures, and trauma care, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and educate patients and families. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.

• Implement, monitor, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.

Mercy Hospital’s 5B Orthopaedic Unit offers medical services for hip and knee replacements, spine/neck surgeries, and trauma from gunshots, wounds, stabbings, car accidents and severe falls. This collaborative unit works with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and the trauma team. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
