Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time evening shift on the Med/Surg 2 unit. The role supports orthopedic, spine, urological, and plastics post-surgical care in a dedicated unit focused on safe discharge planning.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, care plan development with the interprofessional team, and patient education for post-treatment home care and medications.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• RN license current and in good standing.
• 1 year RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on illness, home care needs, and medications.
• Maintain patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participate in professional development.
• Develop, implement and document care plans with interprofessional team and family.
• Communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
