Job summary

BARNES-JEWISH WEST COUNTY HOSPITAL is seeking a registered nurse for its Med/Surg 2 unit. The role involves direct patient care, assessment, and care planning across orthopedic, spine, urological and plastics post-surgical patients in a busy inpatient setting.

The position offers part-time hours with two 12-hour day shifts per week, weekend rotation every 4th weekend, and benefits eligibility. RN license required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required or eligible in Missouri.
• 1 year RN experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to educate patients and families on post-discharge care.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness, treatment and home care.
• Ensures patient safety and quality compliance.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Maintains professional development and documents plans of care.
