Job summary

Swannanoa Valley Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a talented, high energy RN or LPN Weekend Unit Manager to lead the nursing team on weekends. The role supervises care delivery, develops and updates care plans, and ensures quality resident care in a fast paced environment.

You will perform assessments, document services for billing, coordinate with the Director of Nursing, and promote a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN or LPN license with active state license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and coordinate care.
• Strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance patient experience and workflow.
• Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge.
• Supervise nursing staff assigned.
• Document services rendered for billing purposes.
• Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status.
• Implement nursing policies and educate support staff as directed.
• Assign duties to LPNs and nursing assistants.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to resolve grievances.
• Promote favorable working conditions and positive relationships.
• Review charting weekly for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain a safe environment; ensure infection control practices.
• Staff shortages: arrange for replacement staff.
• Track infection control and care trends for proactive improvement.
• Handle other special projects as assigned.

Weekend Unit Manageris responsible for supervision of the delivery of care to residents. Assess resident needs, develop care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise CNA's and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care..

What you will do:

• Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.
• Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge.
• Supervise nursing staff assigned.
• Document services rendered to residents for billing purposes.
• Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status or residents.
• Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines.
• Assign duties to LPN's and nursing assistants, as directed.
• Work closely with the Director of Nursing in resolving grievances with nursing staff, family members, and residents.
• Promote favorable working conditions and relationships.
• Review charting on a weekly basis for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain a safe working environment, complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
• Respond to need for staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff.
• Track infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to provide proactive improvement.
• Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

What you need:

• Registered Nurse or LPN with current state license.
• Must have a current/active CPR certification.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
