Job summary

Ascent Healthcare Management is seeking a Unit Manager at Swannanoa Valley to oversee the delivery of care to residents, assess needs, develop care plans, and supervise CNAs and floor nurses as part of a values-driven leadership team.

You will implement nursing policies, perform admissions/discharges assessments, document services for billing, and coordinate with the Director of Nursing to maintain high standards of care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed practical nurse or registered nurse in good standing.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Ability to supervise CNAs and floor nurses.

Responsibilities

• Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the resident experience and workflow.
• Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge.
• Supervise nursing staff assigned.
• Document services rendered to residents for billing purposes.
• Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status.
• Implement established nursing policies and procedures and educate staff.
• Assign duties to floor nurses and CNAs.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing on grievances and staffing.

Position Description:

The Unit Manager is responsible for supervision of the delivery of care to residents. Assess resident needs, develop care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise CNA’s and floor nurses, and is part of our fabulous leadership team.

What you will do:

• Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.
• Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge.
• Supervise nursing staff assigned.
• Document services rendered to residents for billing purposes.
• Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status or residents.
• Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines.
• Assign duties to floor nurses and nursing assistants, as directed.
• Work closely with the Director of Nursing in resolving grievances with nursing staff, family members, and residents.
• Promote favorable working conditions and relationships.
• Review charting on a weekly basis for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain a safe working environment, complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
• Respond to need for staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff.
• Track infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to provide proactive improvement.
• Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

What you need:

• LPN or RN with current state license.
• Must have a current/active CPR certification.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
