Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd’s 2D Neuro Unit in New Albany, IN seeks an RN or LPN for PRN night shifts (7pm–7am). Self-scheduling is available and you’ll provide direct patient care from admission to discharge on a busy neuroscience unit.

Qualified candidates hold Indiana or compact-state RN/LPN license, BLS and ACLS within 6 months, NIHSS within 10 weeks, and at least 1 year of RN experience to join a team focused on stroke and neurological care.

Qualifications

• Indiana or compact-state RN or LPN license.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
• NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required to hold a PRN position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs.
• Support and educate patients and families and assist co-workers as needed.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.**About the Unit:**The 2D Neuro unit specializes in providing exceptional, high-quality care to adult patients. Our team delivers personalized, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment. We work closely as an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, supported by dedicated providers and ancillary staff, to ensure outstanding outcomes for both patients and caregivers. Common neuroscience diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), seizures and epilepsy, degenerative neurological disorders, autoimmune conditions, and other central nervous system disorders.
