Job description

We are seeking a Nurse (RN or LPN). We are recruiting for Full‑Time for 3 PM‑11 PM. A Nurse will provide direct nursing care to residents in our Rapid Recovery Unit or Skilled Nursing and supervise day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning resident care by following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders.
• Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
• Administer medication, IVs, give shots, update patient records, provide emotional support, patient education, basic diagnostics, and other patient procedures for residents.
• Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure when necessary.
• Respond to all emergencies.
• Schedule doctor’s appointments and coordinate transportation for the residents; include scheduling labs and transcribing lab results.
• Supervise CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse to ensure they provide resident care according to physician orders and defined care plans.
• Assist with evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes.
• Enter physician orders into ECS and complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Ensure residents are receiving medication based on doctor’s orders and complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart, including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by protocols.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.
• Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse.
• Must be CPR certified.
• One year of long‑term care desirable; Med‑Surg, Home Health experience helpful; experience working with the elderly, handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred (training will be provided on the job).
• Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
