Job summary

Westminster Towers Orlando is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in Florida to support the long-term care team. The role requires current Florida licensure and CPR certification, with preferred experience in caring for elderly or developmentally disabled residents.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, daily documentation, lab/x-ray review, and coordination with the medical team. Evening/weekend shifts and staffing oversight are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the State of Florida as LPN or RN.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in long term care and with elderly or disabled adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage admissions and discharges on the day shift.
• Review day case load with Med nurse and responsibilities.
• Verify admission check list from previous day.
• Complete or verify daily skilled documentation for Med A residents.
• Notify physician with issues as appropriate.
• Review labs and x-rays and address findings.
• Perform skin and Braden inspections as scheduled.
• Provide emergency support and SBAR communication.
• Document incidents with witness statements and care plans updates.
• Manage pharmacy deliveries and troubleshoot medication availability.
• Attend morning meetings and baseline care plan meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
• Oversee evenings and weekends staffing and ensure assignments are understood.
• Monitor AHT, EMAR/ETAR, and Smart Charting.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.Must be CPR Certified.One year of long term care desirable. Experience working with the elderly, handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the day shift
• Meet with each Med nurse to review day case load and special responsibilities
• Review all new admissions from previous day to ensure admission check list is completed
• Complete or verify completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for day team
• Notify MD/NP with issues as appropriate
• Review labs and x-rays and ensure all have been addressed
• Complete all skin inspections and Braden inspections according to schedule
• Emergency support
  • Assist nurses in printing emergency records, calling for transport completing SBAR
  • Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
• Incidents and Accidents
  • Complete documentation for all Incidents including witness statements
  • Initial incident documentation
  • Progress not describing care provided
  • Update care plan with new prevention intervention suggestion
• Manage Pharmacy deliveries and troubleshoot any problems with medication availability or
  order.
• Attend morning meeting to review all new admissions
• Attend Base Line Care plan meetings with residents/families.
• Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
• Managing evening shift call offs (weekends and holidays)Verify that all day staff arrive and they are aware of their assignments
• Review upcoming evening shift staffing and manage any problems using the staffing book.
