Job summary
Banner Health in Greeley, Colorado seeks an experienced Registered Nurse – Operations Support Specialist to support two Medical Surgical units. The role focuses on onboarding, education, and clinical mentorship, with additional nursing care as needed on the floor.
Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with night shifts as required. The ideal candidate has an RN license in Colorado (or compact state), a BSN (preferred), and a passion for educating staff and promoting nursing excellence in a high-volume
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in Colorado (or compact state)
- BLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and staff development
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate nurse orientation and onboarding for two Medical Surgical units
- Develop, implement, and evaluate unit-based education, competency assessments, and skills validations
- Provide direct patient care and on‑the‑floor support as needed, acting as a clinical resource
- Round on night shifts to support staff and onboard new hires
- Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to address educational and operational gaps
- Support onboarding of travel nurses, new graduates, and experienced hires transitioning to Medical Surgical
- Assist with policy updates and timely staff education
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives
- Serve as a clinical mentor and coach to nursing staff at all levels
