Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced RN to provide emotional support to patients and families, and to participate in surgical team activities. You will help prepare instruments, maintain a sterile field, and assist with specimen handling following AdventHealth policies.

The role requires an RN license and AHA BLS certification, with 1+ year of RN experience; surgery experience is preferred. This on-site position includes day shifts and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must have valid AHA BLS certification.
• RN license required.
• 1+ year RN experience; surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support to patients and families while delivering compassionate care.
• Develop positive working relationships with co-workers, other departments and personnel.
• Support surgical teams by preparing instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain sterility in the surgical field and anticipate needs of surgeons and scrub techs.
• Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and handling per AdventHealth policies.
• Participate in counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) to ensure patient safety.
• Ensure safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Licenses and Certifications
