Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an experienced perioperative RN for the Operating Room at Allegheny General Hospital. The role delivers professional nursing care for operative and invasive procedures with rotating shifts, including 1430-2300 or 1030-0700 hours and weekend/holiday rotation.

Candidates must hold a PA RN license in good standing and have at least one year of RN and OR RN experience. Clearances and licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Current RN PA license in good standing.
• Minimum one year RN experience.
• Minimum one year OR RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates use of supplies, instrumentation and equipment for pre and intraoperative care and ensures that the equipment is functioning properly.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Acts as patient advocate and documents preoperative and intraoperative care delivered in compliance with hospital, departmental and regulatory agencies.
• Monitors the surgical environment to ensure that aseptic technique is followed by the surgical team.
