Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced OR nurse for complex spine cases in the Oakland area. The role requires scrub/circulating proficiency and CA RN licensure, with CPR certification, to deliver safe perioperative patient care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities include applying nursing processes, collaborating with the OR team, and supporting care management across UCSF Health locations. Strong organization, communication, and technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN experience.
• Active California RN licensure.
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures.
• Proficiency in circulating duties.
• Minimum 2 years' spine scrub/circulating experience with ACDF, TLIF/PLIF, XLIF/LLIF, laminectomy/foraminotomy, tumor resections, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, trauma."],[

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 2-3 years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures
• Proficiency in circulating duties
• Minimum 2 years' experience in scrubbing and circulating spine surgeries; including, anterior/posterior cervical/thoracic/lumbar spine procedures, such as ACDF, TLIF/PLIF, XLIF/LLIF, laminectomy/foraminotomy, and tumor resection, and orthopedic surgeries, including primary/revision arthroplasty, arthroscopy, foot/ankle, and orthopedic trauma.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
• Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge

Preferred qualifications:

• BSN degree
• Specialty Certification

CNOR Education/Licensure/Certifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Minimum of an Associates Degree of Nursing
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
