Job summary

UCSF is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide safe, therapeutic care using the nursing process. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, perform established procedures, and support patient care for complex surgeries across multiple UCSF Medical Center locations.

Required 3–5 years OR RN experience in General, Urology, GYN, endocrine, abdominal transplant and bariatric surgeries, with CA RN license and CPR/BLS/ACLS. BSN and CNOR preferred; flexible, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of adult OR RN experience required, with emphasis in general, urology, GYN, endocrine, abdominal transplant and bariatric surgeries.
• California RN license active.
• Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing complex general surgery procedures.

Job Description

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3-5 recent years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience (required), with emphasis in General, Urology, GYN, endocrine, abdominal transplant and bariatric surgeries.
• - Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California..
• - Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing complex general surgery procedures.
• - Experience with abdominal transplant surgeries preferred.
• - Familiarity with minimally invasive and robotic-assisted general surgery procedures desirable.
• - Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills; ability to work independently and adapt in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.
• - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
• - Basic computer skills and EMR documentation proficiency.
• - Minimum of 16 hours of call requirement a month.
• - This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATION - BSN degree

• REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS - Current Current healthcare provider CPR certification
