The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth North Pinellas

The role you’ll contribute: Directs, manages, and provides care and safety for patients in the Operating Room utilizing the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Assesses individual patients and procedures, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and provides services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. Practice ranges from preoperative assessment through intraoperative intervention to postoperative evaluation. Provides leadership and direction to care team members and represents the Department of Nursing professionally and courteously.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate patient care needs across all age groups.
• Performs initial nursing assessments, documents findings timely, and activates the initial care plan.
• Documents patient progress regularly, including assessments and management plans.
• Administers medications safely according to hospital policies, conducts second nurse verifications, and reconciles medications on admission and transfer.
• Reports medication variances and patient safety issues using risk management tools and communication channels.
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care as needed for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• ADN, Diploma, and/or BSN required
• At least 1+ year of operating room experience required
• 2+ years of relevant clinical OR experience preferred
• RN licensure in the state or a compact state required
• BCLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
