Job summary

RN Operating Room position in Providence, RI for a 90-day on-site contractor role in the OPERATING ROOM department. Shift: 19:00–07:30, Monday to Friday; 36 hours per week.

The role provides perioperative patient care, assists with surgeries, maintains sterile technique, stocks and prepares ORs, and collaborates with surgical teams. Requires active RI RN license and BLS; CNOR preferred; vaccines required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact, RI)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• CNOR preferred (not required)
• Surgical/perioperative experience required—C-sections, D&C, PPTL, D&E
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccines required (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

• Providing perioperative care in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms.
• Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
• Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.
• Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
• Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Applying sterile techniques in handling medical instruments pre-, during, and post-surgery.
• Collaborating with surgical teams on patient medication and post-surgery care.
• Updating patient files and medical records.
• Assisting with the ordering, maintenance, and safe storage of surgical equipment and supplies.
• Providing patients with post-surgery care instructions and answering questions.

• Collaborating with surgical teams and other medical professionals on patient medication and post-surgery care.
• Updating patient files and medical records.

• Providing patients with post-surgery care instructions and answering questions.

Requirements

Minimum 1 2 years recent OB/Periop OR experience

Vaccination Requirements:

• Flu vaccine required
• COVID-19 vaccine required - no exemptions.

Clinical Requirements:

• Active RN license (or compact, if applicable to RI)
• BLS certification (AHA)
