Cynet HealthStaff seeks an Oncology RN for a 13-week assignment. The role involves direct and indirect chemotherapy patient care, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe, effective treatments.

The nurse must have 1+ year acute care or medical/surgical nursing experience, an Oregon RN license, and BLS plus ONS Chemotherapy credentials. Expect administrative duties, teaching, triage, and adherence to policies in a fast-paced oncology unit.

  • Provide teaching, counseling, and support to patients and families.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives and Plan of Care on admission.
  • Perform duties consistent with infection control and patient confidentiality.

Description:As the Chemotherapy Nurse, this nurse provides direct and indirect patient services to chemotherapy patients.The nurse will need to efficiently communicate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and co-workers about changes in patients' clinical conditions and policy updates.This nurse should be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient and unit conditions to ensure safe and quality patient care.This role includes administrative functions, teaching, triage, counseling, supervision, delegation, and expertise in administering chemotherapy medications as prescribed.The RN is responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care on admission and caring for that plan.Participates in the performance improvement plan of the organization.

Physical Requirements:Sufficient auditory ability to detect and respond to various sounds, including patient alarms and verbal communication.Clear and effective communication is essential for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.Visual acuity is necessary for observing patient conditions, reading documentation and monitors, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes.Tactile perception is important for assessing physical characteristics during patient care.Motor coordination is required for handling and performing tasks necessary for medical equipment and procedures.The position may involve occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment.Walking and standing are typically continuous throughout the shift.The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and involves frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds.Occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds may occur, with the expectation of using appropriate techniques and assistance for safety.May require sitting for long periods.
