Job summary

Medical Hill Healthcare in Oakland, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an on-call/per diem role. This position offers flexible scheduling with AM, PM, and NOC shifts and pay rates of $51.00–$52.50 per hour.

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable RN with strong clinical assessment and communication skills to provide resident-centered care, supervise LVNs and CNAs, and maintain accurate documentation in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Current and active California RN license required.
• CPR certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with individualized care plans

• Assess residents and monitor changes in condition

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered

• Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians and appropriate members of the care team

• Supervise and provide direction to LVNs and CNAs

• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and resident assessments as needed

• Coordinate care with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team

• Respond promptly to resident needs, emergencies, and changes in condition

• Follow infection prevention and control procedures

• Ensure compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and nursing standards

• Promote resident safety, dignity, comfort, and quality of life

Qualifications

• Current and active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required

• Current CPR certification required or preferred

• Previous skilled nursing, post-acute, or long-term care experience preferred

• Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team

• Dependable, compassionate, and resident-centered approach

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work flexible on-call shifts as needed
