Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit. The staff RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care using evidence-based practice and coordination with the health care team.

A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The unit cares for adults requiring short-term observation and treatment, with an emphasis on rapid assessment, frequent reassessment, patient education, and safe discharge

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of start.
• RNs with <12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire date.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status and information from interdisciplinary team.
• Plan: Develops individualized plan of care with patient, family, and team involvement.
• Implement: Directs care and coordinates with interdisciplinary team to execute the plan.
• Evaluate: Revises plan based on patient response and outcomes.
• Professionalism: Maintains ethical, regulatory, and documentation standards.
