Job summary

Lake Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (12-hour) in the OB and MedSurg units. The role involves a rotating schedule, shared call, and non-exempt status with union benefits.

Under Nursing Director supervision, you will provide high-quality maternal care, educate patients and families, and act as a clinical resource and leader for staff. Oregon RN license and BLS are required, with ACLS/NRP/STABLE ongoing certification after hire.

Qualifications

• Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required.
• Current BLS required. ACLS, NRP, STABLE and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification as soon as available after hire.
• Acute and Post Partum unit check off required after hire.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse, Full-time, 36-40 hrs./week, Nights, 12-hour shifts, rotating schedule, working both in OB and MedSurg. Shared call (low census call, certification call, mandatory call as schedule needs). Non-Exempt, Hourly, Union Benefited position

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Nursing Director, provide compassionate, high-quality care to mothers and newborns while supporting patient and family education. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. Serve as a clinical resource and leader for nursing staff, promoting safe, effective, and patient-centered care throughout the mother-baby experience.

Requirements

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required. Current BLS required. ACLS, NRP, STABLE and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification as soon as available after hire. Acute and Post Partum unit check off required after hire. PALS certification encouraged.

Experience:

At least one (1) year of acute clinical experience preferred. Demonstrates excellence in obstetrical nursing skills and patient care.

Job Knowledge:

Responsible to understand and capable of implementing duties with the scope of rules and regulations of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act.

Skills:

Provide leadership within complex and rapidly changing clinical environment. Function calmly and effectively in emergent situations peak work times. Demonstrate positive and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families. Prioritize patient care and unit needs appropriately. Functions as a positive team member with other hospital staff and physicians. Recognize and differentiate normal and abnormal patient assessments and conditions. Provide effective education for patients, nursing staff members and students. Maintain patient confidentially. Maintain open and effective communication with co-workers, physicians and management staff.

Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.

Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.

Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.
