Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Family Birth Center. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, collaborate with physicians and staff, and activate the Plan of Care at admission.

Labor and Delivery duties may include C-Section circulation if oriented to that area. Ideal candidates hold an Oregon RN license; ACLS/NRP within 6 months; EFM training as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in Oregon.
• ACLS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• EFM certification once trained in Labor and Delivery.
• No previous experience required, but clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Family Birth Center.
• Communicates with Physicians/Nurse Manager about changes in patient condition.

• Initiates the computerized Plan of Care on admission.

Family Birth Center

Definition of Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Family Birth Center setting. Communicates with Physicians/Nurse Manager/Co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. He/she is responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care on admission. Additionally, can perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Working Conditions

This position is performed primarily in an indoor healthcare environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility.
