Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a Nursing Supervisor, RN to oversee nursing staff across assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care settings in Connecticut. The role focuses on quality of care, regulatory compliance, and staff development in a faith-based community.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved school of nursing, currently licensed as an RN in CT, with 2 years of nursing and 2 years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Must be currently licensed as an RN in CT.
• 2 years nursing experience, required.
• 2 years supervisory experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional and non-professional nursing staff and ensure quality of care through rounds and resident satisfaction.
• Manage the overall functioning of the building for the assigned shift.
• Provide explanation of nursing policies and procedures and assist staff to ensure understanding and training.
• Participate with the Director of Nursing in evaluation, discipline, and motivation of staff.
• Communicate with Director of Nursing/administration regarding observations, problems, and needs.
• Explain nursing care to residents and families and provide medical care instructions as appropriate.
• Administer direct and/or emergency care and respond to emergencies, contacting EMS when required.
• Handle special projects as assigned by DON and relocate staff as needed to maintain high quality of care.
• Assist in orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
• Ensure sanitary maintenance of nursing units and equipment and report maintenance needs.
