Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nursery, ISCU, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery Resource Team on the Night Shift at Evanston and Highland Park Hospitals. Per Diem positions require availability for night hours and weekend/holiday coverage as per level agreement.

The role emphasizes independent nursing care, adherence to the nursing process, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe, compassionate care for labor and delivery and postpartum

Qualifications

• Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required.
• NLN accredited school of nursing; BSN strongly preferred.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certification required (AHA).
• Two years of recent acute care nursing experience in Nursery, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery or ISCU required.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide safe, effective nursing care for labor and delivery and postpartum patients.
• Use the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Contribute to safety and high-quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Registered Nurse - Nursery, ISCU, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery Resource Team - Night Shift

Position Highlights:

• Position: Nursery, ISCU, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery Resource Team - Night Shift
• Location: Evanston and Highland Park Hospitals
• Per Diem
• Hours: Night shift 2300-0730 and 1900-0730; weekend and holiday requirements per level agreement
• Per Diem Commitment Level: Per Diem Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Per Diem Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Per Diem Level 3: 111-144 hrs./ per 6-week schedule

• Required Travel: Evanston and Highland Hospital

What you will do:

• Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for labor and delivery and postpartum patients
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
• Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
• Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
• Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
• Certification: BLS/ ACLS/PALS / NRP Certification for the Healthcare Provider required. (AHA)
• Experience: A minimum two years of recent acute care clinical experience in Nursery, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery and/ or ISCU experience required
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Nursery, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery and/ or ISCU experience required
