Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California, located in Goleta, seeks a Nurse Manager to supervise nursing staff, coordinate with physicians, and ensure high-quality nursing care for adults with IDD and special needs. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and program development.

You will work on-site Mon-Fri days, coordinating with a dedicated team to deliver consistent patient care, training, and continuous quality improvement in a non-profit environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
• Graduate of an approved nursing school.
• Minimum of 2 years experience providing patient care.
• Supervisory experience highly preferred.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison with on-call physicians, medical providers and contractors to ensure quality nursing services.
• Supervise, train and model nursing best practices for staff.
• Hire and manage nursing staff and oversee nursing care plans.
• Perform assessments and create care plans; educate on medication administration.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California provides programs and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Located in Goleta, CA in this role, you would be responsible for providing supervision, direction and consultation to center nursing staff. Additional responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

• Communicating with physician’s regarding client’s needs, the nursing assessments and recommendations.
• Collaborating with nurses and members of the treatment team to ensure the client’s well- being.
• Responsible for hiring and managing nursing staff.
• Performing assessments/evaluations for potential clients and create nursing care plans as needed.
• Teaching medication administration to staff monthly.
• Educating clients, families and others on health, wellbeing and disease prevention.
• Attending residents’ meetings as needed, Provides health related update to team and family as appropriate.
