JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the clinical nursing care of the home infusion patients and management of nursing staff supporting PruittHealth Infusion pharmacy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1.Make home visits to evaluate appropriateness for home infusion services.
- 2.Ability to teach and train patients/caregivers to participate in home infusion treatments in their homes.
- 3.Provide nursing interventions to home infusion patients within the accepted standards of practice based on national INS standards.
- 4.Assume full responsibility for professional management of assigned patients to nursing staff
- 5.Maintain clinical records to meet federal, state and agency regulations and standards.
- 6.Develop the Plan of Treatment and assist to maintain the interdisciplinary care plan.
- 7.Assume and assign on call duties.
- 8.Supervise care provided by home infusion Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses
- 9.Have nursing meetings regularly.
- 10.Have training as needed for staff.
- 11.Coordinate services with other agencies as needed.
- 12.Provide infusion in-services as needed for non-pharmacy clients/partners.
- 13.Assist with marketing visits as clinical support as needed.
- 15.Maintain timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
- 16.Review all nurse’s notes and prepare for billing.
- 17.Assist with pharmacy operations as directed by Executive Director
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Maintain all infusion skills to be prepared for all aspects of home infusion treatments required.
- Participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current License/certification as required.
- Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
- Be able to use all nursing education/skills to assist home enteral patients on pharmacy service.
- Knowledge and experience in managing staff.
- Skills in conflict resolution.
- Ability to be available to all staff as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or graduate of an accredited/approved RN program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5-10 years of nursing experience with a concentration on infusion and management.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
- Current, active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Current CPR certification.
