Goldie Floberg seeks an RN Nurse Faculty to complete DHS training and meet Nurse Trainer profile requirements while ensuring medical needs are met for clients and involving guardians in care decisions.

The role focuses on preparing staff through classroom and on-the-job training, maintaining documentation, and supporting health services in field settings. Training and compliance with DHS/DDD are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Illinois RN license.
• Two years clinical experience within last five years and at least one year serving persons with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to become DHS/DDD approved Nurse Trainer (training provided).
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess sensory abilities to fulfill job responsibilities.
• Must take and pass the TABE test.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Must possess or demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Must exhibit regular and predictable attendance.
• Must meet the physical demands described in the Physical Demands section.
• Must memorize our mission and values.
• Must lead by example in line with our mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to ensure DHS/DDD required medication administration classroom training within 30 days of placement on the habilitation Aide registry.
• Provide training to ensure on-the-job medication administration training and CBTAs within 30 days of placement on the habilitation Aide registry.
• Complete annual Self-Administration of Medication Assessments and Physical Status Reviews for all people served annually.
• Review medication administration processes including MAR checks and medication witnessing.
• Provide follow-up training for staff on medication changes before they administer new or changed medications.
• Teach other medical classes and on-the-job learning activities as directed by leadership.
• Document all training activities and file in each staff member's personnel file; email summary to VP Health Services.
• Generate a General Event Record and report incidents of training non-compliance to the President/CEO.
• Contribute to achieving our mission, vision, and personal outcome measures for clients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the VP of Health Services.
