Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Specialized Services in Nuclear Cardiology at the La Jolla campus. You will support cardiac stress testing under physician supervision, administer medications with imaging studies, perform 12-lead EKGs, and monitor for rhythm changes.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, administrative duties, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes within your scope of practice.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• ADN diploma or nursing degree required.
• CA RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in Cardiology required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and adjunct nuclear medicine agents.
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs and monitor for arrhythmias.
• Educate patients and document care per policy.
• Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure quality care.

This is a full-time position (64 hours per pay period) working 8-hour varied day shifts, including weekends. The position is located at the Anderson Medical Pavilion on the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus and primarily supports the Nuclear Medicine department, with the opportunity to float to MRI as needed.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, adjunct nuclear medicine medications, patient education, documentation, infection control, and collaboration with physicians and clinical staff to deliver quality patient care within your scope of practice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• ADN or nursing diploma
• CA RN License
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in Cardiology

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• EKG experience
• Experience administering adjunct nuclear medicine medications, including Lasix (furosemide), morphine, and Kinevac (sincalide).
