Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, Iowa, seeks a dedicated RN to support its Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, the only freestanding of its kind in Iowa. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care, maintain accurate records, and effectively communicate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid RN license in Iowa.
• Must possess active BLS from an accredited organization.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs and stand for extended periods.

This position will support our Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, the only freestanding, comprehensive pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program in the state of Iowa.

Schedule / Benefits

• 3 shifts per week, self-scheduled 6pm-6am, every 3rd weekend
• Benefit eligible, including medical, dental, vision plans, retirement with company match, and generous PTO accrual, including 16 hours of PTO front-loaded

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.

What You’ll Need

• Current valid license as an RN in Iowa.
• Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.
