The position requires a 2‑year nursing degree, Iowa license, ACLS/PALS certification or eligible, and flexibility for 12‑hour shifts and 2–3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current Iowa license.
• ACLS and PALS certified or completion within five (5) years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care as required.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes to staff.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and trauma care.
• Ensures adequate stock of supplies and equipment functioning.
• Inspects area for policy/regulation compliance and takes corrective action.
• Maintains patient records confidential and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
• Demonstrates proficiency as a team leader and coordinates care for all ages.
• Develops comprehensive nursing care plans and prioritizes emergency needs.
• Promotes effective teaching plans for patients and families.
• Participates in CQI/UA studies and professional development.

Education
