Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL seeks a registered nurse for night shift to provide comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity setting. You will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, and educate families while collaborating with the health care team to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, an Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), and experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s of Nursing Required.
• Bachelor’s of Nursing Preferred.
• 1+ acute care hospital setting Preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on unit/state.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural and spiritual factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; evaluate and revise as needed.
• Administer meds and treatments safely per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care and ensure effective teamwork.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Evaluate care plans and adjust to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control and safety compliance in the unit.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Engage in professional development and performance improvement activities.
• Respond to code situations promptly and intervene to stabilize patients.
