Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shift, 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday rotation. The role supports a four-level Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway based on experience and qualifications.

The RN will provide direct nursing care under physician orders, perform assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with the care team to achieve patient goals. Massachusetts licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required depending on unit.
• Experience level varies by pathway level I–IV.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Integrates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts accurate clinical assessments and documents findings.
• Develops and evaluates individualized plans of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to tailor care to patient needs.
• Manages patient assignments and allocates tasks within the team.
• Develops educational plans for patients and families and documents per standards.
• Supports informed patient choices and advanced directives.
• Participates in discharge planning and community referrals.
• Mentors new staff and supports their transition into unit.
• Contributes to professional development and departmental committees.
