TALENT Software Services seeks a registered nurse for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) duties in Cincinnati, OH. The role requires specialized knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for very preterm to term infants, with emphasis on skin-to-skin, breastfeeding, and safe sleep practices.

Expect night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts, with every-other weekend, for a 13-week assignment.

Duties

The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. Nurses utilize knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care, which promotes an ongoing partnership between patients, families, and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age‑specific. Nurses adhere to the American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the relevant Nurse Practice Act.

Unit Description

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU):

• The level III NICU is a new 15‑bed unit.
• The NICU can care for very preterm (28 weeks gestation) to term infants that require additional support.
• The range of medical conditions includes but is not limited to respiratory support, feeding assistance, neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, glucose instability, and antibiotic therapy.
• Nurses attend all high‑risk deliveries and assist with initial assessments as needed.
• Staff provide evidence-based care and place special emphasis on skin‑to‑skin, breastfeeding, and safe sleep practices.
