Job summary

At Duke Health, Duke University Health System is accepting RN applications for the New to the Operating Room Program in February 2027 cohort across multiple Duke facilities in Durham, NC.

The six-to-nine month training prepares new graduates and RNs without OR experience to scrub and circulate in a fast-paced surgical environment, with schedules Monday–Friday 8am-4:30pm and subsequent unit-specific shifts.

Qualifications

• RN license required before February 22, 2027.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher required or pursuing BSN within two years of start date.
• New graduate RNs and experienced RNs are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the New to the OR Training Program.
• Scrub and circulate in operating room procedures as training progresses.
• Participate in orientation, preceptorship, and unit-specific schedules.
