These positions will have orientation in specific MedSurg departments that will assist in preparation for your career in Emergency Services. Throughout this program you will get an opportunity to work the med/surg floors, seeing a variety of patient populations and building your foundational nursing skills while having scheduled immersion shifts in Emergency Services every 6 weeks. The immersion shifts will help foster and build rapport with the team while becoming familiar with department policies, procedures, and patient populations. Your professional development nurses will support you along the way and help you grow your professional practice to ensure you have a successful career in your chosen specialty.Emergency Services, a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, is a high-energy, patient-centered environment that serves more than 68,000 patients annually with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. The department consists of 45 total patient exam rooms including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms that serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities.
