Community Memorial Health System is offering a Nurse Residency Program for new graduates in Ventura, CA. The RN participates in a 12-month clinical and educational sequence, with preceptorship, team training with GME, and Epic EMR training.

The program emphasizes supervised nursing care, collaboration with departments, and a pathway to a full-time role upon successful completion. Applicants must have a CA RN license by Feb 2027 and ACEN/CCNE-accredited ADN/BSN education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ADN or BSN program accredited by ACEN, NLN - Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation, OR CCNE by Janary 30, 2027
• Must have no paid RN work experience prior to start of program
• A nationally recognized (AHA, ARC) BLS certificate by the beginning of the program
• Willingness to commit to the Nurse Residency Program and one year afterward
• Current California RN license by February 20, 2027 (candidates may apply before licensure)
• Preferred: Spanish language ability
• Preferred: ACLS certification

Job description

Salary: $48.80/ hour

Shift Diff: $3/hr - 1500 - 2300; $5/hr - 2300 - 0700; $2/hr - Friday & Saturday 1900 - 0700

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse provides and supervises nursing care as established by CMH standards of care. The Nurse is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within a patient care unit. The Nurse utilizes the nursing process in assuring comprehensive nursing care to a wide variety of patients and families. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of the related clinical activities. They supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing professional discretion and independent judgment.

This is a full-time benefited position; the program is a 12-month commitment. The 12-week preceptorship portion of the program is divided into the four areas listed below and facilitated by content experts. Nurse Residents will have team training opportunities with Graduate Medical Education (GME), and work with ancillary departments to reinforce collaborative practice. The program continues with monthly seminars (Nursing Seminars/Grand Rounds) ending at graduation!

This comprehensive program is designed for the New Graduate RN starting a career in the adult acute care environment. Hospital Orientation will be held March 1, 2027 (0800-1630), Central Nursing Orientation will be March 2, 2027, and Epic EMR training is March 3, 2027.

Required:
