As a CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident, you will be supported professionally and emotionally by a network of expert nurses who act as teachers, preceptors, mentors, and educators. The Nurse Residency Program is a total of 12 months, including an 18-24 week clinical immersion experience with a trained preceptor. Upon completion of the 18-24 week preceptorship, the nurse resident will begin a mentorship journey with a qualified mentor to complete the 12-month transition-to-practice experience.
This is a robust, focused program that will foster the development of critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, stress management, and leadership skills. The content is created to prepare the newly licensed nurse resident to deliver safe, effective, and quality patient care. The nurse resident will experience the true meaning of interdisciplinary care via clinical rotations with departments such as Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Wound Care, Radiology, Cath Lab, and Rapid Response.
