Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for Neuro PCU in Indiana for a 13-week night-shift assignment with 12-hour shifts. The unit focuses on neuro stepdown/progressive care patients with drip titration and requires prior neuro experience.

Active RN license in IN or compact, plus BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, are required. Expect to float to MedSurg/tele as needed and adhere to a 3–4:1 PCU ratio with 4–5:1 on MedSurg.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or compact).
• 2 years of PCU or Stepdown experience.
• Previous neuro experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.

Responsibilities

• Care for neuro stepdown/progressive care patients with drip titration and monitor neuro status.
• Float to MedSurg/tele units as needed.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios: 3-4:1 on PCU and 4-5:1 on MedSurg.
• If floated to MedSurg, maintain a 1:3 ratio.
• Three weekend shifts required within a 4-week schedule.
• Travelers will undergo a specific orientation program.
• Nurses will never work alone on this unit.
• Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs.

Description: The unit specializes in caring for neuro stepdown/progressive patients.Nurses will be responsible for drip titration for experienced clinicians.Those without experience will float to MedSurg/tele units as needed.The equipment utilized includes EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillator, and Philips Bedside Monitors.The nurse to patient ratio is 3-4:1 on Progressive Care and 4-5:1 on MedSurg.Floating to like units is required.If floated to MedSurg, nurses will maintain a 1:3 ratio.Three weekend shifts are required within a 4-week schedule.Travelers will undergo a specific training program for orientation.Nurses will never work alone on this unit.The dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs.
