Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for a PCU assignment with a 13-week duration. Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 2 years' RN experience, MO or compact license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS are required.

Responsibilities include care for high-acuity patients, arterial lines, ventilated patient management, and telemetry. Expect occasional float to lower-acuity floors and strong teamwork with respiratory and social services support.

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.

  • Manage ventilated patients and cardiac telemetry.
  • Administer IV insulin protocols and blood products as needed.
  • Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
  • Float to lower acuity floors when required.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and maintain safety.

Description:This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Step Down Unit.The focus is on providing care for patients transitioning from the intensive care unit.Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during day shifts.Two weekend shifts per month are required.Experience in managing high acuity patients is essential.The unit typically handles complex medical cases, so familiarity with critical care procedures is preferred.Knowledge in the following areas is necessary: care of ventilated patients, cardiac telemetry, and IV insulin protocols.The nurse will need to be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.Additional skills include administering blood products and managing chest tubes.Floating to lower acuity floors may be required as needed.The nursing team will work alongside interdisciplinary support staff, including respiratory therapists and social services.Strong communication and teamwork skills are critical for success in this role.
