Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Albany, GA. This 17-week contract features 12-hour night shifts and a 36-hour work week, focused on stepdown cardiac care with 44 beds available and an emphasis on cardiovascular surgery patients.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in stepdown in an acute care setting, a valid RN license, and the ability to read cardiac rhythms. BLS/ACLS preferred; NIHSS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have strong ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred (NIHSS optional).

Responsibilities

• Provide care for Stepdown/PCU patients under 12-hour night shifts.
• Monitor cardiac patients post-surgery and manage critical changes.
• Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5) and coordinate with clinical supervisor.
• Be flexible to float to ICU if required and supported by ICU experience.

Description:Strict 75-mile radius rule applies.Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility to the address on the traveler’s driver\'s license.Nurse to patient ratios are 1 to 5.Unit has 44 beds, including 8 semi-private rooms.Charge Nurse serves as Clinical Supervisor.Weekend requirement is every other weekend.Flexibility is needed for holidays and shifts around holidays.Unit focuses on cardiac cases and patients who have undergone various cardiovascular surgeries and procedures.Common diagnoses include CABG, thoracotomy, stents, AICD, and a range of other cardiac conditions.Fast turnover of rooms, with an average census of 32-38 patients.It is crucial to be able to float to ICU but only stepdown patients will be accepted unless ICU experience is confirmed.Must have natural-colored hair and avoid fake nails, shellac on nails, facial piercings, and visible tattoos.
