Description:The Registered Nurse will work in the Neuro ICU setting.The average patient ratios are 1:2 for both day and night shifts.First-time travelers are accepted.Weekend requirements include every other weekend.The Nurse will not be required to be on-call.Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required.The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with a total of 1,567 staffed beds.Charting is done electronically.Daily census in the unit averages 17 patients.

Additional requirements include the ability to manage critical care scenarios.The Nurse will provide care for patients with neuro-specific diseases and conditions.Key skills include management of ventilated patients, arterial line management, and ICP monitoring.Certification in advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, and NIH stroke scale is mandatory.The environment requires interdisciplinary cooperation, involving various support services.Procedures performed in the unit may include EVD placements and central line insertions.Dedicated attention to patient safety and emergency protocols is crucial.The role encompasses monitoring various clinical parameters and responding to emergencies.Experience with complex patient cases is preferred.Flexibility in scheduling and teamwork will be essential for this position.
