Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Neuro ICU contract in Colorado. The role requires critical care nursing expertise with a focus on neuro ICU patients, ICP management, and high-acuity care. Shifts rotate days and nights; weekends may be required.

The facility is a comprehensive center needing skilled documentation and team collaboration. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in ICU, including neuro specialty, and hold BLS/ACLS/NIHSS.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience; at least 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts; day/night rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 24-bed Neuro ICU; patient ratio 1:2.
• Monitor neurological status hourly and manage ICP.
• Manage external ventricular drain (EVD) with strict protocols.
• Post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy post-op care.
• Chart thoroughly using EMR; coordinate with interprofessional team.

Description:Position available for a Registered Nurse in a Neuro ICU setting.Shifts will rotate between days and nights on various days of the week.Weekends are required as per unit needs.The nurse will not be on-call.The patient ratio is 1:2.Charting will be performed using an electronic medical record system.Experience in high acuity and fast-paced surgical ICUs is necessary.The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and a level I trauma center.The nurse may float to similar facilities as required.Competency includes management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and central line care.The nurse should be adept at monitoring and managing ventilated patients.Infection prevention and phlebotomy skills are necessary.Experience with critical care conditions such as stroke management and traumatic brain injury is essential.The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare teams.It consists of 24 beds dedicated to neuro surgical patients.The average daily census is up to 24 patients, including those recovering from neurosurgical procedures.Special procedures include managing post-operative care for craniotomy and aneurysm clipping patients.
